While there is no direct public transportation to Blue Knob State Park, the best way to get there is by car. From Altoona, take Route 36 south to I-99 North. Take exit 39 toward US-220 N/I-99 N. Follow US-220 N to PA-869 E in Freedom Township. Take the PA-869 E exit from US-220 N. Continue on PA-869 E. Drive to your destination in Kimmel Township. The drive is approximately 30-45 minutes.
